Monmouth Cafe
This classic coffee company have been roasting since 1978 with fan base all over the world. Many coffee shops in London are currently using Monmouth’s coffee beans. Although their taste still can’t match Monmouth’s own! I suspect the key ingredient apart from coffee beans is milk. Monmouth always use organic whole milk (no skimmed or semi-skimmed here) from Jeff Bowles in Somerset, and you can really taste the difference.
The coffee shop is always packed with locals and regulars. Most ask for take away rather than sit in (not many tables available to sit). As you can see below, very long queue.
The flat white I ordered was strong yet balanced, possibly creamier than most places.
If you prefer to sit down for a coffee, its well known that everyone would share the few tables available. So don’t be afraid to ask to share. People are very friendly here.
Overall Monmouth is an excellent place to visit if you are around Covent Garden. Most people queue up for takeaway or simply buy some Monmouth roasts for home.
